چکیده

b Blockers have been shown to reverse left ventricular remodelling (LVR) and to reduce the severity of functional mitral regurgitation (FMR) in patients with chronic systolic heart failure. It is unclear, however, to what extent the beneficial effects of b blockers on LVR or FMR are influenced by the severity of left ventricular dilatation or FMR at the time of commencement of b blocker treatment. We retrospectively analysed serial echocardiograms taken at baseline and two years after commencement of carvedilol in 257 patients with chronic heart failure caused by left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

اثر PercutaneousCoronary Intervention Elective بر بهبودی نارسایی ایسکمیک میترال

Introdution: Ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) remains one of the most complex and unresolved aspects of ischemic heart disease that the impact of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on improvement of intensity of ischemic mitral regurgitation is not well clarified. Patients with coronary artery diseases and ischemic mitral regurgitation have a worse prognosis than the patients with coro...

CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE Relation between heart rate, heart rhythm, and reverse left ventricular remodelling in response to carvedilol in patients with chronic heart failure: a single centre, observational study

Objective: To determine whether the process of reverse left ventricular remodelling in response to carvedilol is dependent on baseline heart rate (BHR), heart rhythm, or heart rate reduction (HRR) in response to carvedilol. Design: Retrospective analysis of serial echocardiograms in 257 patients with chronic systolic heart failure at baseline and at 12–18 months after starting carvedilol. Rever...

Integrated reverse left and right ventricular remodelling after MitraClip implantation in functional mitral regurgitation: an echocardiographic study.

AIMS The aim of the present study was to investigate the changes of left and right ventricular (RV) dimensions and function after MitraClip implantation in high-risk surgical patients with severe functional mitral regurgitation (MR). METHODS AND RESULTS Study population included 35 patients with functional MR. All the patients underwent clinical and echocardiographic evaluation at baseline, b...

CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE Effects of carvedilol on left ventricular remodelling in chronic stable heart failure: a cardiovascular magnetic resonance study

Background: The ability of b blockers to improve left ventricular function has been demonstrated, but data on the effects on cardiac remodelling are limited. Objective: To investigate, using cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), the effects of carvedilol on left ventricular remodelling in patients with chronic stable heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction caused by coronary ...
